Islander Lager 2025 Golden Can Contest - Official Rules

1. Eligibility The contest is open to legal residents of British Columbia who have reached the age of majority (19+) at the time of entry. Employees of Vancouver Island Brewing ("Sponsor"), its affiliates, advertising agencies, and immediate family members are not eligible to enter.

2. Contest Period The contest begins on July 1, 2025, at 12:00 AM PT and ends on December 31st, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT.

3. How to Enter There are two ways to enter the contest:

(a) Golden Can Entry (Purchase Not Required to Enter)

  • Specially marked Islander Lager 8-packs will be available for sale during the contest period. A total of 15 golden cans will be randomly distributed across approximately 10,000 8-packs—5 cans for each of the three participating lodges.

  • If you find a golden can, follow the instructions printed on the can and packaging to register your entry online or by mail. Each golden can corresponds to one of the following lodge-specific draws:

    • Tofino Resort + Marina

    • Reel Obsession

    • Nootka Marine Adventures

(b) No Purchase Necessary Entry

  • Submit a handwritten 300-word essay on the theme "What I love about Islander Lager" to:

  • Include your full name, phone number, mailing address, email, and clearly indicate which of the three lodge-specific prize draws you are entering (Tofino Resort + Marina, Reel Obsession, or Nootka Marine Adventures).

  • Mail-in entries must be postmarked no later than September 30, 2025, and received by October 7, 2025.

4. Prize Three (3) winners will each receive a guided fishing trip for two (2) at one of the following participating lodges: Tofino Resort + Marina, Reel Obsession, or Nootka Marine Adventures. Trip includes two nights’ accommodation and one full day of guided fishing. Approximate retail value per prize: $5,000 CAD.

5. Winner Selection On or about December 31, 2025, one (1) winner will be randomly selected for each lodge-specific prize draw from all eligible entries received (including both golden can and no-purchase-necessary entries for each lodge).

6. Claiming a Prize Selected entrants must correctly answer a time-limited mathematical skill-testing question and complete a declaration and release form. If a selected entrant fails to do so within 7 days of notification, an alternate entrant will be selected.

7. General Conditions The Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or amend the contest if necessary. Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. The contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.

8. Privacy Personal information collected from entrants will be used only for the purpose of administering the contest and will not be shared except as required by law.
